The Mediating Role of Religious Coping in Perceived Stress, Psychological Symptoms and Psychological Well-Being in a Sample of Puerto Rican Adults

The impact of religious coping (RC) on health has been a subject interest in recent years. Despite the increase research RC, Puerto Rico there not identified studies aimed to examine mediating role positive (PRC) and negative (NRC) mental variables. Therefore, objectives study are: (1) Examine relationship between perceived stress (PS) with PRC/NRC, psychological symptoms (PSx; depression, anxiety & posttraumatic symptoms) well-being (PWB) sample 302 Rican adults several self- report measures associated outcomes. (2) PRC/NRC PSx, PTSD, PWB. (3) PRC/ NRC PS, PTSD results revealed that PRC did mediate none However, significantly related mediated PS PWB post- traumatic disorders symptoms. Implications are discussed.
